Welcome to Friendship Masonic Lodge No. 160

A Masonic Lodge in North Portland, Oregon.

A Guiding Light

What is Freemasonry? To many of its members, Freemasonry is a guiding light to those who wish to improve themselves — better fathers, better husbands, brothers, and ultimately, better members of society. Its principles and ceremonies inculcate the importance of introspection and manifestation of personal improvement to the world at large.

It’s also a haven for long-lasting and meaningful friendships among those who might otherwise have remained at a distance.

In short, it’s an organization that fosters fraternity, encourages personal improvement, and provides meaningful experiences.

The Modern Gentleman

Freemasonry has attracted men from many walks of life; those who not only have a sincere wish to be serviceable to society, but also to be a cut above the typical man and be part of the times. It is a haven for the modern gentleman to learn about the ways of the world.

If this sounds like something you’re interested in pursuing, then we invite you to learn more.

Friendship

Friendship No. 160 AF&AM is one of the many Masonic Lodges under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Oregon. We are currently based out of the Kenton Masonic Temple in the Kenton neighborhood of Portland. As a Masonic Lodge, our focus is on Fellowship, Education, Charity, and above all else Friendship, as our name would imply.

We meet essentially every Wednesday for something or another, and are always happy to have guests and visitors. If you’d like to see what we’re up to, please check out our Calendar of events!

April Stated Meeting – A District Deputy Visit

By | General News | No Comments

A wonderful start to April for our Lodge. We opened on the MM Degree to welcome and receive the Right Worshipful Brother Adam Bayer, our favorite District Deputy. We were also happy to be visited by Brother Mike from Kenton 145, as well our a couple of our Brothers Russ and Scott, who came to lodge for the first time in a while much to all of our delight. We had much to discuss in terms of our planned Master and Wardens BBQ coming up next month, as well as the St Johns Parade that same month. RWB Bayer also graced us with some lovely remarks about our lodge, masonry, and philosophy which we all found enlightening. After we completed our Stated Meeting, we retired to our Clubhouse downstairs to enjoy some refreshment and a lively conversation about the Book we’re all reading.

With the vicissitudes of winter upon us it was absolutely time to get our relief to area shelters. And despite the core leadership of the Lodge being out of state, despite key elements of our project lost in transit, and despite having fewer than 24 hours to complete 450+ kits, Friendship persevered.
