Welcome to the
Juneau Masonic Community

________

Freemasonry is the oldest and largest worldwide fraternity dedicated to the Brotherhood of Man. Freemasonry is not a religion. Rather, it is a place where men of all creeds can meet and work on the great truths of peaceful human interaction common to all religions.

The Freemason’s path begins at the Craft, or Blue Lodge. There, he submits his initial petition to be made a Mason, meets the members of the Lodge and the Masonic community, and is elected by the Lodge members to receive the three degrees of Craft Masonry: Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft and Master Mason. The Craft Lodge in Juneau is Mt. Juneau-Gastineaux Lodge No. 21.

There is a great deal of spiritual, philsophical, historical and other information to study and learn in the Craft Lodge. Many Masons choose to focus their efforts in Freemasonry there. Others join one or more of the appendant or concordant bodies associated with Freemasonry.

In Juneau, a Mason can join the Scottish Rite and/or the Shriners. He and his spouse can join the Juneau Chapter No. 7, Order of the Eastern Star (as can many of his female relatives). There are also two Masonic youth groups in Juneau - the Rainbow Girls and DeMolay - open to kids regardless of whether their parents have any Masonic affiliation.

You can explore this site to learn more about Masonry in Juneau, including information about the appendant and concordant bodies and the youth groups. There are also leads to further information and inquiry, including contact information.
